Fees and Funding

Toy Box Nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday all year round. The only times we are closed are on Bank Holidays and over the Christmas period (closed from 25th December to 1st January inclusive). Once you have decided which weekly sessions your child will attend your standard monthly fee will be calculated, based on the 51 weeks we are open as we do not charge for the Christmas week. This amount is payable every month regardless of holidays, bank holidays or sickness.

There are various Government Schemes to help parents/carers with childcare costs. The funded government contribution is available for children aged from 9 months to 4 years, up to 15 or 30 hours per week during school term time (570 or 1140 hours respectively per school year), dependent on your circumstances. We offer the funded hours stretched over the 51 weeks of the year that we are open. Any additional sessions required can be provided at an extra cost as detailed above.

When you use one of the Government Schemes, the only additional charge you will pay for the funded sessions is for the meals provided as these are not covered by the Government funding. The cost of this is £6 for the morning session covering breakfast and lunch and £4 for the afternoon session covering afternoon snack and tea.

If you wish to provide your own meals and snacks for the funded sessions, then they must comply with the nursery’s policy on “Packed meals and snacks”.

Toy Box has signed-up to Tax-Free Childcare. For every £8 paid by the parent, eligible working parents can get a £2 top-up from the government towards the cost of their childcare.

If you would like further help understanding the funding options, please speak to our manager, Claire McCartney.

A non-refundable registration fee of £40 must be made to secure your child’s place.

In the event of a late collection an additional fee of £5.00 per 15 minutes is charged. The parent/ carer will be asked to sign a late collection form and the amount will appear on their next invoice.

Fees are reviewed annually.

Non-payment of fees may result in your child/ children’s place being withdrawn.

Fees not paid by the 7th of each month will automatically incur a £20.00 late payment fee.

Toy Box Day Nursery reserves the right to withdraw any child who we feel will not settle or whose behaviour proves to be of a consistently unsatisfactory nature.
